Search spider

Clicking on re-index begins the process of repopulating all the indexable content of the site. The page provides feedback on the ongoing progress at the top.

Initially all the expired entries in the index are deleted, then the index is run over pages posts and files. This populates a table with the following columns:

• # - Number of the entry
• URL - the page, post or file name
• Shortcut ID - the shortcut ID of the page or file
• Message - any error message output during the re-indexing process

It's best to let the re-indexer run through to completion before trying searches again.  A guide to indexed search logic is here. The audit trail reports when search indexing fails on any asset.
