We are excited to be able to announce the release of Sitekit CMS 10.1, our latest and greatest CMS update yet and packed with new features and functionality. What was initially planned to feature mainly under-the-hood improvements and subtle tweaks here and there has developed into another huge release with a raft of new features as well as the usual nips, tucks and bug fixes.

In the coming days it will be available to all our customers on our hosted platforms and available as an upgrade to those with on-site deployments. If you are hosting your own deployment contact your account manager today to discuss an upgrade.

For more information about Sitekit CMS 10.1 read our announcement in the blog or for details of exactly what has changed see the Sitekit CMS 10.1 release notes.

Since the up-grade I have not managed to edit anything or add anything to the Shetland Clay Target pages nothing works is it my PC that can't run the new system or am I missing something. I can create a page but the add text box won't open no edit can be done.

Hi Jim,
I've raised a support ticket for this (#119487) so Dave will get back to you on it. The support email is support@sitekit.net. Quite often on upgrades folk have issues because their browser is caching parts of the old version of the admin system so it's a good idea to clear your cache if you get any bother after releases.

Hello

Nice pic James!

Loving the new CMS, think it is so much easier to use and far more intuitive than the previous version.

I have logged a call as I can't seem to add images into a standard text element, could use to right click and add an image previously but I seem to have lost this for now.

Other than that, great work!

We haven't been upgraded yet, liking the look of the Forums, and can't wait to get the interactive elements of our intranet more active.

But, NHS sites on the N3 network, we get awful problems with cacheing, it seems variable to IE, Firefox and Chrome, and to individuals and locations. No amount of clearing local caches and refreshing will fix it. Could do with a) a cleardown button - that overrides all cacheing, and b) some idea of which browser Sitekit is most optimised for, different features seem to fail on different ones.

Our web authors regularly tear their hair out (I have little left), and am worried about the transition to 10.1. But great to see Sitekit moving forwards again.

Not sure how others than admin can add pictures to their profiles ....

and this with square brackets told me there was a missing closing tag for img

Hi Andy, we're always looking for ways we can improve the way the product responses to caching within the N3. As Ian mentioned above users will need to clear their cache. In addition to N3 caching there may well be local caching which has been in place by the local IT service (as was recommended by Connecting for Health) as well as within the users' browser.

I would investigate the possibility of any additional caching taking place by the local IT service. It might be possible to request your site, and the Sitekit CMS admin address, be excluded from the configuration. Though it won't solve the problem, it may help mitigate it to a greater or lesser degree.

Also, you'll notice I've updated your profile picture. Changing profile pictures has not yet been implemented in these forums as yet but we don't mind changing or adding them for our favourite users! We've raised a ticket (#119614) in your name regarding the image insert via BB error.

Not sure if this is a quirk or a bugette, but Versions on xsl. There is a localpostpage.xsl that Ian kindly put in our tree, which I copied to edit. The version that Ian created exists as version one, but no matter how many times I edit and publish, it doesn't save further versions. As I am hacking through, I get to a point of failure, and it dumps me back at Ian's original, which is quite frustrating.

And today it is now showing 4 versions (a fraction of the number I published. Reverting to any of these seems to fail. We are experiencing strange problems with the editing. Some when accessing outside N3.

Hi Andy. I'm afraid I haven't been able to recreate. I've successfully updated the XSL both with our own credentials, and logged in as you (we have the ability to switch to other admin users). That was both with the original localpostpage.xsl, and I also did it with a test file, localpostpage-TEST.xsl. Also not having any issues changing the live version of the test XSL.

Could I trouble you to generate an HTTPWatch report? Hopefully it would shed some light on the issue...

Local XSL ability - is this restricted to posts, or will we be able to put XSL for data islands etc onto our local 'server' (once the facility works) rather than submit for authority ?

Hi Andy. You should be fine. Approval is only needed on our shared environments. If it states "(Signed)" after the filename when you open it in admin, then the CMS should use it without issue.
